We are currently advertising three postdoctoral positions:
(1) Surface hydrology/melt modelling of the Greenland Ice Sheet
We are looking to recruit a postdoc with interests in the hydrology of the weathering crust of the Greenland Ice Sheet to join the DEEP PURPLE project at Aarhus University (Risø). You will be joining an interdisciplinary team containing microbiologists, biogeochemists and physical glaciologists. (2) Microbiome and (3) Carbon dynamics research in Greenland
We are currently advertising two postdoctoral job opportunities, both based at the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) in Potsdam, Germany. The successful candidates will become part of the dynamic, diverse, international and multidisciplinary @GFZ_Interfacies and @DeepPurpleERCSy GFZ team led by Liane G Benning in Potsdam, Germany and work closely together with Alex Anesio and Martyn Tranter from the Cryo-Microbiology group at Aarhus University in Denmark. Fieldwork in Greenland is an integral part of both projects.
Postdoctoral Scholar in Microbiome Research - the goal of this project is to assess changes in microbial diversity and function in cryophillic microbe-dominated habitats on the Greenland Ice Sheet with a focal point on seasonal samples and eukaryotes. https://www.gfz-potsdam.de/en/career/job-offers/job-detail/4623/
Postdoctoral Scholar in Microbial Carbon Dynamics - the goal of this project is to assess the dynamics of organic C species in snow and ice algae dominated habitat in terms of seasonal deposition, surface processing and cycling rates and fluxes. https://www.gfz-potsdam.de/en/career/job-offers/job-detail/4630/

We are also seeking a Master/Bachelor Thesis or Internship based at Aarhus University (Risø) to start late 2020/early 2021: In-situ growth controls of glacial microbial communities on the Greenlandic Ice Sheet Supervisors: Laura Halbach (PhD student) and Professor Alex Anesio.
